Shining Star Program
 The Miss South Dakota Shining Star Program is not a competition, but rather an opportunity for young girls between the ages of 5-12 to gain self-confidence, mentoring, and lasting friendships. The 2026 Shining Star program will be held on Saturday, May 30, as part of the 2026 Miss South Dakota competition on the SDSU campus in Brookings.
