2024 Panelists Announced

The panelists for the 2024 Miss South Dakota competition have been set. These panelists will judge candidates in a variety of areas including private interview, talent, evening gown, fitness, and onstage interview. The final competition is set for Saturday, June 1, at 6:30 PM.
Keith Williams
Keith has been a volunteer with the Miss America Organization for the past 44 years. He has served as the Local Director for several local pageants. While serving as a member of the Board of Directors for the Miss Florida Pageant Organization, he served as a Regional Director and judges chairman.
In 2002, Keith joined the Miss Florida Scholarship Pageant, Inc. (now Miss Florida Scholarship Program, Inc.) Board of Directors where he currently serves as the Chairman of the Board and the State Executive Director. Keith has served as Secretary, Treasurer and was named to the Hall of Fame and recognized as a Volunteer of the Year. He has many years of experience judging pageants on the local and state level for various organizations.
A graduate of Gupton Jones College of Mortuary Science in Atlanta, Georgia, Keith is a Licensed Funeral Director, a Florida Licensed Real Estate Sales Executive, and a Florida Insurance Sales Agent. He has served as a member of the Board of Directors for numerous local organizations and enjoys volunteering his time for a worthy cause. Keith resides in Lakeland, FL.
Jennifer (Palmquist) Brixius
Jennifer is our Forever Miss South Dakota 1990. She lives in Plymouth, Minnesota with her husband Chip and their three children.
She is currently taking a break from her professional career and enjoying being at home with her kids. For 24 years, she was with International Dairy Queen where she held a variety of positions of increasing responsibility, serving most recently as the Vice President of Quality Assurance and Food Safety. In this role, Jennifer managed the company’s worldwide quality assurance program to ensure store operators had access to products that met Dairy Queen’s standards for quality, consistency, value and safety. She has also served on the University of Minnesota Advisory Council for the Department of Food Science and Nutrition, and is a founding member of the National Restaurant Association’s Executive Nutrition Study Group.
Jennifer received her Bachelor of Science degree in Food Science and Nutrition from South Dakota State University, and her Master of Science degree in Food Science and Nutrition from North Dakota State University. She is also a registered dietitian.
In her spare time, Jennifer enjoys volunteering at her children’s school, entertaining, gardening and going on walks with her family.
Makaleb McInnis
Makaleb is the men’s basketball assistant coach at Black Hills State University (BHSU).
In 2023 he helped lead Black Hills State University to the D2 Final Four. Prior to that, he was a graduate assistant coach at Augustana University from 2020 to 2022, during which the Vikings went a combined 35-11 and made a NCAA Tournament appearance while winning five games over ranked opponents.
He was born and raised in Bremerton, WA where he graduated from Olympic High School. He attended Pierce Community College in Lakewood, Washington, for two years. McInnis then transferred to BHSU where he spent two years as a student-athlete. As team captain, he helped lead the squad to a fourth-place finish in the RMAC and an appearance in the program’s first-ever RMAC Tournament championship game.
He graduated with his business administration degree from BHSU and a master’s degree in sports administration and leadership from Augustana. After graduating BHSU he played one year for the Falkirk Fury in Scotland. In his down time he likes golfing (Spearfish Canyon regularly, but he really enjoyed Sutton Bay in Agar last year), bowling, and working out. Makaleb resides in Spearfish. Makaleb says that sports and competition are valuable to young people because they learn how to work with others, work together, and learn in a sport like basketball that you can't win by yourself.
Dr. Vicki King-Maple
Vicki is a Telly Award-winning director, producer, and scriptwriter of musical variety shows and talent competitions. She is also a vocalist with - and manager of - two vocal ensembles, PureHeart and Soul Legacy. A former college vice president and instructor, Vicki is an advocate of personal and professional development, having also served as a performance coach for over two decades with Dale Carnegie Training. Vicki was a television news anchor and reporter, as well as a morning radio personality and a writer for a series of dance and talent magazines. Involved with the Miss America Opportunity for over 35 years, Vicki authored the book, “The P’s of Pageant Prep: Prepare for Your Pageant While Pursuing Your Personal and Professional Purpose.”
She is prepared at the doctorate level from Ashland University, where she earned an undergraduate degree in Communications and a master’s degree in Higher Education Administration. She also completed the Institute of Management and Leadership program at the Harvard Graduate School of Education. The recipient of the Woman of the Year Award for Zanesville-Muskingum County, Ohio and a variety of Educational and Workforce Development Program Excellence awards, she travels as a consultant, speaker, and executive director of a government association.
Vicki resides in Nashport, OH with her husband, Homer, and their Shih Tzu puppies, Harley and Pebbles.
Edd Adamko
Edd is Director of Content Development at KABC-TV, the Walt Disney-owned ABC station in Los Angeles. Born and raised in South Florida, Edd is a graduate of University of Central Florida. He started his career in television news at WPBF in West Palm Beach before moving on to WSVN in Miami, then moved to Los Angeles where he began working at KABC over 25 years ago. Although his experience was in television news, his passion for entertainment led him to the red carpets of Hollywood where he has interviewed some of the biggest names in entertainment. He produced his first Academy Awards red carpet arrival show over 20 years ago, which evolved into “On The Red Carpet,” the entertainment brand of the Disney/ABC Owned Television Stations. In addition to Oscar night red carpet coverage, Edd oversees other high profile specials including “On The Red Carpet at the Emmys,” “On The Red Carpet at the CMA Awards” and “On The Red Carpet at the American Music Awards.”
A fan of pageants growing up, Edd was excited to produce “Miss America: Secrets Revealed” in 2013. It was a multi-part series for the Live Well Network that was shot in Las Vegas featuring every contestant in the Miss America 2013 competition. Last year, Edd served as a judge for Miss Minnesota and traveled to Orlando in January to cheer Angelina Amerigo on! When Edd is unable to travel to pageants, he and his husband host pageant viewing parties.
